Goun Botanical Garden

Goun Landscaping founded in 1970 began as a landscaping business before purchasing 36.4Ha land in Chengyang in 1990 and receiving the permit to establish a botanical garden in November 1997.

They purchased plants from 1996 to 2003 and officially opened the botanical garden in June 5, 2003. Goun Botanical Garden serves as a learning place for the general public, offering hands-on educational programs for students, and preserves the genetic resources of plants. It has some 6,200 plant species including rare species such as Abeliophyllum distichum and Euryale ferox Salisbury.

Major plant species include the 300 species of Acer, 300 species of Hosta, 280 species of Rosa, 260 species of Hibiscus, and 400 species of Paeonia, which are divided into 22 thematic places. It is a great place to take a stroll as it is traversed by a small stream and there are benches where people can relax. There is even a small zoo, where you can find mountain goats, deer, goats, Asiatic black bear, peacocks and ducks.
